CISSE ON LIVERPOOL, ARSENAL RADAR
Olympiakos defender PapeAbouCisse is attracting the interest of some teams in the Premier League. This is according to the report from Greek news portal OnSports which also revealed that Olympiakoshave an asking price of at least €10m for the giant defender.
Arsenal and Liverpool have an interest inCisse. The Olympiakos defender has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Greek Super League champions.
Olympiakos are no strangers when it comes to selling players to Premier League clubs for a big fee. At the start of last season, Wolves paid £17m to sign Daniel Podence from Olympiakos.
Apart from Arsenal and Liverpool, Merseyside club Everton also want to sign the player. Everton and Liverpool are Merseyside rivals and they could battle it with one another alongside Arsenal for the signature of the aforementioned Olympiakos defender.
The interest in 26-year-old Cisse from the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool was confirmed by the Daily Mail. Scouts from the three Premier League teams were said to be in attendance for a recent UEFA Europa League clash with Turkish team Fenerbahce.
Liverpool have shown the most interest in Cisse out of the three Premier League sides. Cisse is a teammate of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane at the Senegalese national team level.
JurgenKlopp has a lot of central defender options at his disposal thus leading to questions of whether a new centre back is needed. Liverpool signed a new centre back in the summer in Moussa Konate from RB Leipzig in the German top flight and he has hardly played Premier League minutes until the big game against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend. Konate has had to wait patiently for his chance due to the fantastic form on the part of Cameroonian player Joel Matip.
