GREEKS ADD STRIKERS

Greek champions Olympiakos have been signing a few strikers already in this transfer window, and they have added young Arsenal striker Joel Campbell to their squad. The striker has moved to the Greek club on a season-long loan deal after failing to establish himself in the first team of the Premier league outfit.

Arsenal have confirmed that the youngster will be looking to get some first team experience before returning to the Emirates stadium. The Costa Rican has been at Arsenal for the last two years, but he has been on loan at various clubs like Real Betis and Lorient.

He was signed from Deportivo Saprissa in 2011, according to top soccer blog, but he is yet to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal. However, he has been an important player for his national team during this period. Campbell has made 25 appearances for the national team and has seven goals to his name. He made his international debut back in 2011.

The Greek club also recently confirmed that they had signed Argentine striker Javier Saviola on a free transfer. The striker has been searching for a new club after being allowed to leave Malaga as his contract came to an end. The 31-year-old striker will be providing a wealth of experience. He has played for the likes of Barcelona, Benfica, and Real Madrid during his career.

He will be wearing the number nine shirt at Olympiakos. Prior to the move to the Greek club, the striker has been linked with a move to Championship outfit QPR as well. However, it seems that the possibility of playing once again in the Champions League is enticing for the South American. He has played in this competition six times in the past. His move comes as a major boost for Greek football, which has been dominated by match fixing allegations.
