WHAT NEXT FOR LUIZ AS TRANSFER TO OLYMPIACOS STILL UNSURE
Arsenal defender David Luiz is having a hard time trying to get a new club that he will play for this season. The Brazilian central defender has already been told by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta that he has been deemed surplus to requirements and is no longer needed at the club but he has been facing some difficulties as he continues his search for a new club before the closure of the summer transfer window. Luiz was said to be getting close to sealing a move to Greek club Olympiacos and everything seemed to have been already agreed subject to a medical and the player putting pen to paper on how new contract but that appears to not be the case.
Arteta has continued to leave his imprint on the Arsenal squad and has continued to build his team, putting faith in younger and more hungry players rather than ready-made stars who would be collecting large wages and still not be putting in the required or demanded performance by the club in order for them to yet favorable results.
Luiz is one of the players that has been told that his time at the Emirates Stadium is up and as he continues to be on the lookout for a new club, time may yet be running out for the former Chelsea defender. Luiz was not up to the standard that was expected of him last season and that is the reason why he has been told he has to leave the club. That is also the reason clubs are not queuing to sign him so far this summer as they continue to fear that he may also not perform for them.
Olympiacos seems to be the best option for him at the moment but first, there would have to be some things out in place for the transfer to go ahead. And that's where it looks like the problem lies for the Brazilian currently.
